Zurich, 03.12.2019 - ASMALLWORLD AG (SWX: ASWN) today announced the launch of its personalised luxury travel curation service under the name «ASMALLWORLD Private». The high-end travel service, provided by a team of expert travel designers, will offer bespoke travel arrangements to ASMALLWORLD members, as well as non-members. The expansion of ASMALLWORLD's travel services aims to capture a meaningful share of its members' CHF 1.1B of hotel spend and is expected to contribute significantly to the company's revenue and profitability growth going forward.
ASMALLWORLD today announced that it has launched its high-end travel agency under the name 'ASMALLWORLD Private.' The new service offers personalised luxury travel curation service, provided by a team of expert travel designers who will carefully curate the ultimate travel experience for each customer, based on their individual needs and preferences.
ASMALLWORLD Private was founded based on the belief that great travel experiences are created through passion, knowledge and an unwavering focus on detail. Based on this philosophy, the service is focused on delivering a high-end travel experience tailored to individual needs. The offering primarily focuses on leisure travel and covers all destinations and holiday types, including beach vacations, skiing trips, luxury and expedition cruises, safaris and honeymoons.
ASMALLWORLD Private is managed out of London, where most of ASMALLWORLD's travel team is based, and leverages the established business relationships from LuxuryBARED, a travel agency which was acquired by ASMALLWORLD in February this year.
As a proud member of Virtuoso, Hilton Impresario, Hyatt Privé, the Peninsula Pen Club and the Leading Hotels of the World Vita, ASMALLWORLD Private offers customers many additional travel benefits like room upgrades, early check-ins, late-checkouts, daily breakfast for two and consumption vouchers worth USD 100 per stay.
Fully integrated into ASMALLWORLD but open to non-members as well
ASMALLWORLD Private is fully integrated into the ASMALLWORLD platform and can be accessed via the ASMALLWORLD app and website so members can easily get in contact with the ASMALLWORLD Private team and book their next journey. At the same time, the service is also available for non-members who can access the site via www.asmallworldprivate.com or the public section of the ASMALLWORLD app.
The personalised travel curation service comes at no extra cost and is offered to members and non-members for journeys starting at EUR 5'000.
ASMALLWORLD members with significant travel spend of CHF 1.1B per year
Based on a representative study which was conducted earlier this year, ASMALLWORLD estimates that its members have a combined spend of CHF 1.1B on hotel nights each year. Members undertake an average of 21 leisure trips per year and spend CHF 680M on leisure trips alone, which the offering of ASMALLWORLD Private service targets. While the competition in the travel space is high, the company is confident that ASMALLWORLD Private has a compelling offer, leverages the ASMALLWORLD brand and offers its members a convenient, high-quality service which will allow it to capture a meaningful portion of its members' travel spend over time.
New travel offering will drive service revenue growth going forward
ASMALLWORLD will further expand its travel offering in early 2020, when it plans to go live with its own hotel booking engine, named the ASMALLWORLD Collection. This new hotel booking platform, based on the technology of LuxuryBARED, which was acquired in February, is currently in development and will be fully integrated into the ASMALLWORLD platform, offering a curated, hand-picked selection of the world's most admired hotels.
At launch, 720 hotels will be bookable directly online from the ASMALLWORLD app and website, and customers can chose between the lowest price and the ASMALLWORLD Preferred Rate which comes with additional benefits like room upgrades, early check-ins, late-checkouts, daily breakfast for two and USD 100 consumption vouchers during the stay. The ASMALLWORLD Collection will be available to members and non-members as well.
Both new travel services, ASMALLWORLD Private and the ASMALLWORLD Collection, are expected to significantly contribute to company's revenue and profitability growth going forward.
