ASMALLWORLD Winter Weekend in Gstaad a great success
Zurich, 18.12.2017 - For the 8th time, the private social network ASMALLWORLD has invited its members to Gstaad for the opening of the winter season. The legendary Palace Hotel, which only opened its doors to ASMALLWORLD, attracted 250 members from all over the world, including star rapper Wyclef Jean, to attend the festive weekend.
Last weekend, more than 250 ASMALLWORLD (ASW) members from all over the world travelled to the snow-covered Bernese Oberland for the ASW Winter Weekend in Gstaad. For this event, which took place for the eighth time, ASW had rented the legendary Palace Hotel exclusively for its members. As event partners, Parmigiani, Beluga, La Martina and Etihad were the main sponsors.
For the lucky ones, who were able to get tickets for the sold out event, the weekend began with a welcome cocktail in the lobby of the Palace Hotel, where guests like Roger Moore, Elisabeth Taylor and Madonna have been seen on a regular basis. The SPA gave guests the opportunity to relax until the official opening of the festivities, the Chairman's Cocktail in the lobby.
“You have travelled from 36 cities and more than 20 countries - truly a small world! Welcome to Gstaad,"said Chairman Patrick Liotard-Vogt, welcoming guests dressed in gold according to the dress code (La vie en Or). At the following dinner in the decorated ballroom, Wyclef Jean was responsible for the musical entertainment, together with the Acapella Band the Phly Boyz, flown in from St. Tropez - until finally the whole hall danced. A welcome warm-up for a long dancing night in the Green Go Club that lasted until the early morning hours!
After a varied daily program including fondue lunch, the traditional ASMALLWORLD Foundation Gala took place on Saturday evening in the ballroom of the Palace Hotel. This year funds were collected for the reconstruction of the Caribbean island of Barbuda, where the severe hurricane season had left a great deal of damage. Over CHF 100,000 was raised for this good cause. We are very grateful to our members for this contribution. It is important to us that our guests have a great time, but also that they don't forget that there are people who are not doing so well ", commented ASW CEO Jan Luescher.
Unbelievable how fast the weekend ended. There's only one thing to be there next year and in the meantime take away the good memories of this year:
